I sit at my computer looking at the idea of returning to Nigeria for good as the economic climate in this part of the world is getting somewhat colder than usual. and then I read about all the news coming out of the north of Nigeria, from Jos which has always being part of Nigeria which has never being associated with this kind of violence. I am beginning to wonder what the future holds for Nigeria as a nation. Any dreams of returning to Nigeria to live is more and more difficult to envisage, but I must also state that west of Nigeria is stable there were no killings in these parts of Nigeria, but as we know these kind of revolutions start they gain a life of their own and continue like a wild fire burning through a bone dried bush. And then there is the east of Nigeria where over that last few years there has being the problem of kidnappings according to reports if you appear to be successful in business or have appearance of wealth you might just get taken for ransom, sometimes I think maybe we can`t really blame them for that kind of behaviour , after all the leaders have failed them over the last fifty years and all they see is their leaders growing fat on the wealth of their nation while they cannot feed their families.
Which brings me back to my question should I head further west to the U,S ,Canada where it is safer or maybe head to the orient pearl of the Asia continent and look for business opportunities out east. Should I forget about Nigeria, Sometimes I feel like as Nigerians there seems to have a myopic view of what Nigeria is and where we should be as a nation. I on the other hand believe Nigeria should be well ahead of where it is now .but as many people know there are powerful people in Nigeria that do not believe that Nigeria should develop to be a great nation that it should be. Many of my friends remind me that Rome was not built in a day and I must confess that they are right, and maybe there a bright future ahead for Nigeria but I am beginning to feel that I might not be able to see the bright future of Nigeria that we all dream about if the violence is not taken care of and it grows out of control and becomes a battle of wills for who can worship God best in their own way

No. 1 : "Should I forget about Nigeria", I feel that even asking about this question suggests that you already have. If we don't appreciate that this is where we belong and take responsibility as a whole, Nigeria will disappear and that is my greatest fear.
I think that all the good and bad, it's all us, we can't say the bad is not Nigerian and the good is. We have to work towards making Nigeria a better place, and we do that by changing our outlook, it's a personal decision. And I believe it starts with saying "I will never forget about Nigeria".
No.2 "Sometime's I feel like as Nigerians there seems to have a myopic view..."
I think this is vital for any nation to develop, this isn't the problem, the problem is thew lack of actions.
Lastly, as for your sci-fi - do it!! Go for it, but do it well. There are a few punctuation mistakes in this post.. which are okay, but I think you should start by being a shining example of what good writing means.
All the best.
