The brand New Nigeria

The elections are over, the winner declared, an election according to the international community was a step forward in the political life of Nigeria as the nation moves forward to a brighter future. We have a section of the country unhappy about the results and they go on the rampage, they claim the results were rigged. the truth is if they did took part in the election and kept  a eye on the process, maybe they might feel a bit better about the whole process but i must declare that I am rather naive when it come to Nigerian politics. As far as i can see the northern states should be thankful that they are part of the republic of Nigeria, when i look at the whole picture of how we see ourselves as a nation it is becoming clear that the northern states do not really see themselves part of the republic, it seems like they want create a nation of their own, as far as i can tell a Islamic state, which comes with all the benefits of sharia law and all that comes with it. The chopping off of hands, the stoning of women, and all the rest. As we look around the world today, do we see the benefits of Islamic law? , in the countries that have Islamic law i look for what  benefits they bring to the whole world as a whole and i cannot in any way find any. They have the wealth that Oil bring  them and with that they  buy everything they want, but have not being able to develop anything that would be a benefit to humanity. Now some of theses nations are slowly beginning to turn towards western style governance, and some are being pulled by force by it`s own citizens. History has shown us that when religion takes centre stage in the development of a nation it become a barrier for progress , as it is shown in history, the western world  moved forward in technological development ,in  systems of governance, medicine and many other fields of endeavour ,  the middle east stayed firmly in the middle ages.
As the northern states have taken upon themselves to head into the direction of religious dogma ,and continue to believe that they are the only ones to rule over the republic, this election might make them understand that those days are over and they have to make a move to becoming more integrated into  nation because they have more to lose if they do not

Motor show at excel 2006

The motor show at London docklands excel was a collection of new cars, concept design and all the new innovation in car safety on display; I was very impressed with the safety aspect of the French manufacturer Renault . This motor show had a collection of cars worth about £10 million, which in my opinion was not enough with the apparent absent of was some manufacturers of big super cars such as Ferrari, but still there was a decent collection of cars on display.   One of the showstoppers for me was the new Cadillac Escalade 2007 it looked slick and a bit longer than the older models, the interior was awash with the latest gargets needed to get around in your very own sitting room on wheels, as we well know the American manufacturers have the best in technology and comfort build into their cars, and here in this show the American car manufacturers made a impressive showing of the muscle they can muster. Chrysler presented a 2007 model of the Chrysler 3000 touring salon and esta
